DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) – British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke today paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the Jamaat central office here this morning at his office in the capital’s Bashundhara today.

The meeting, held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, also included Political Counselor Timothy Duckett. 

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on a range of current issues in Bangladesh. They expressed hope that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom would continue to grow stronger in the coming days.

Dr. Rahman’s upcoming visit to the United Kingdom also came up during the talks.

According to party sources, the Jamaat Ameer is scheduled to meet a British minister during the trip.
