DMP files 1,503 cases against traffic rules violators

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 1,395 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital over the past day.

The DMP has been conducting regular campaigns against traffic rule violations to bring the city's traffic management system under proper discipline, said a statement from the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the statement today.

According to the release, 308 motor vehicles were impounded and 79 vehicles were immobilized during the anti-traffic violation drive conducted on November 17.

The statement said the drive was carried out by several traffic divisions across the capital.

It added that Motijheel Traffic Division filed 368 cases, Wari Division 115 cases, Tejgaon Division 156 cases, Mirpur Division 153 cases, Gulshan Division 191 cases, Uttara Division 139 cases, Ramna Division 68 cases, and Lalbagh Division 205 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.

The DMP said the ongoing drives will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
