DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) – The government has delegated the power of executive magistrates to six BCS (administration cadre) officers to operate mobile courts at various places including Bangladesh Railways.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday.
The notification stated that these officers of the BCS (Administration) cadre have been delegated the powers of Executive Magistrates and have been delegated the powers of operating mobile courts in accordance with Section 5 of the Mobile Courts Act, 2009.
The six officers are - Shimul Kumar Saha, divisional estate officer, Bangladesh Railway, Kamalapur, Shafiqul Islam, divisional estate officer, Pakshey, Md Nazmul Huda and Abida Sultana, deputy secretaries, Railways Ministry, Md Manjur Hossain, divisional estate officer, Lalmonirhat and Md Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, divisional estate officer, Chattogram, the notification said.
The terms of the delegation of powers state that the District Magistrate, if necessary, will be able to coordinate the operation of mobile courts with the Executive Magistrates assigned to other organizations under his jurisdiction under the empowered law.
The Empowered Executive Magistrate shall inform the concerned District Magistrate before operating the Mobile Court.
It is further stated that the Empowered Executive Magistrate shall send the information on the operation of the Mobile Court to the concerned District Magistrate by the 10th of the following month in the prescribed format.
