Islami Chhatra Shibir protests Awami League's planned sabotage

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has protested against the planned sabotage by the Awami League, whose activities have been banned, and demanded to give a legal basis of the July Charter.

Chhatra Shibir President Zahidul Islam and Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam made this demand in a joint statement issued today.

In the statement, they said that the Awami League established a dictatorship in the country, took away the people's voting rights and suppressed the opposition parties and opinions. They implemented the Indian agenda through disappearances, genocide, extrajudicial killings and creating ‘Ayna Ghar’ (mirror houses) to consolidate power, they said.

Even, they (AL) paralysed the country's economy and turned it into a dysfunctional state through various criminal activities including laundering about 28 lakh crore taka abroad, corruption, looting, land grabbing and other activities, it said.

The leaders said that students and mass people gave birth to a new Bangladesh through the bloody July Uprising, rooting out the fascist rule for 16 years. The blood stains of July have not dried yet, the injured are still writhing in hospital beds, they added.

However, they said, without showing the slightest remorse for the massacre committed in July, the Awami League is plotting to carry out massacres against the people of the country again.

“We want to warn the murderers that they will not be allowed to create any anarchy in the country. Those who come to create an unstable situation in the country, along with the students and the public, will be given a befitting reply on the streets,” they said in the statement.

The leaders said, "We are observing with concern that although structural reforms are essential, some parties are creating obstacles in its implementation by destroying the state structures and systems that the Awami League established fascism in the country."

They said the July Charter is an essential element in the journey of a new Bangladesh. “Therefore, it is the responsibility of the government to implement the aspirations of the mass uprising without prioritizing any party position. Therefore, we call for an order to provide a legal basis for the July Charter,” they added.

The leaders urged patriotic forces to speak out against the Awami League conspiracy and demand the legal basis of the July Charter.
