JASHORE, July 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum has said that the collaborators of fascist Sheikh Hasina are instigating anarchy across the country while remaining in hiding.

"They (fascists) are once again trying to push the country into a dangerous situation," she said while addressing a women's rally organized by Jashore Poura Unit of Mohila Dal in the Talikhola area near the police lines yesterday.

Presided over by Poura Mohila Dal leader Lutfunnahar Labony, the rally was moderated by unit president Shamsunnahar Panna.

Among others, District Unit BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon, District Mohila Dal General Secretary and freedom fighter Ferdausi Begum, Poura BNP President Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury alias Mulluk Chand, BNP leaders Ali Hossain Madon and Akbar Hossain Khokon also addressed the event.

Professor Nargis Begum said that incidents of murder and rape have surged in the country due to the activities of the absconding collaborators of fascist Hasina.

"Women are key to social transformation, and Begum Khaleda Zia has already proven this," she said, adding that Khaleda Zia led a nine-year-long movement against autocratic Ershad. The people of the country supported her wholeheartedly, and she successfully restored democracy by ousting Ershad from power, Nargis added.

The BNP vice chairperson also said that while in power, Begum Khaleda Zia brought unprecedented changes to the country and led uncompromising struggles against fascist forces.

She said BNP is demanding elections to restore the democratic process through a free and fair national vote. "There is no reason to show sympathy for the Awami League, as it did anti-social and anti-state activities in the past," she added.
