DHAKA, May 19, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today opened a three-day nationwide “Land Service Fair-2026” in the capital.
He formally inaugurated the fair around 11:19 am by pressing a button at the ‘Bhumi Bhaban’ in the city’s Tejgaon area. He also unveiled the covers of three publications of the Ministry of Land.
Following the inauguration, the fair began simultaneously across all districts and upazilas, which will continue until May 21.
The main theme of this year’s fair is “Citizen-friendly automated land management, secure land and prosperous future”.
The main objective of the fair is to familiarize citizens with new land services and provide direct public services.
Later, the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited different stalls and service centres at Bhumi Bhaban. He also went round of the call centre, citizen service centre and day-care centre.
The fair has been organised to simplify land services, raise mass awareness about digital platforms and citizen services, and ensure services reach to the grassroots level.
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Land, the people will get direct ideas about different land services through the fair and some services will be provided instantly from the fair venue.
At the fair, citizens will receive direct information about registration on the land portal, e-mutation applications, online payment of land development tax, collection of ‘khatian’ and DCR, collection of ‘mouza maps’ and other services.
Besides, some services including acceptance of e-mutation applications, distribution of certified copies of ‘khatian’ and payment of land development tax will be available at the fair venue.
Besides, at the fair, extensive publicity will be carried out regarding the national hotline 16122 and divisional hotline 01706888787 for complaints related to land services.
In addition, an informative booklet titled “Bhumi Amar Thikana” will be distributed throughout the three-day fair so that common people can learn about land services in simple language.
Besides, the Ministry of Land is planning to introduce digital surveys, land zoning and issuance of ownership certificates immediately after land purchase under government initiatives.
At the same time, initiatives have been taken to launch unified digital registration and e-mutation through coordination between upazila land offices and sub-registry offices.
