DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir
Rizvi Ahmed today said the previous Awami League government has looted the
country's property and destroyed all democratic institutions including
Election Commission as well as the media.
"They never wanted real democracy," he said after visiting the venue of the
discussion and special program to be arranged by BNP at Bangladesh-China
Friendship Conference Center here this afternoon.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, a
discussion titled "Mass Uprising 2024: National Unity and Democratic
Movement" and a special programme in honor of the martyrs' families will be
organized on July 1 with the participation of all political parties.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will speak virtually from London as the
chief guest at the event.
Rizvi said BNP announced a 36-day program that will begin on July 1.
"We must pay special tributes to those whose children left this world to
restore democracy. With that motto, our party's Acting Chairman Tarique
Rahman inspired people across the country in the July Movement,"
Mentioning that the July Revolution is one of the many achievements of the
nation, this senior BNP leader said, "We dream of building a future
Bangladesh. We want to ensure a safe life for all."
BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Member Secretary of the July-
August Mass Uprising, Mourning and Victory Anniversary Celebration Committee
and Mass Education Affairs Secretary Prof Dr Morshed Hasan Khan, central
leaders Habibur Rashid Habib, Mahdi Amin, Dr Toufiqul Islam Mithil, Abdus
Sattar Patwari and Farzana Sharmin Putul were present.
