DHAKA, Aug 30, 2026 (BSS) - Food Minister Afroza Khanam has said the government's main goal is to deliver safe food to people's doorsteps and that all necessary measures will be taken to achieve this objective.

She said this while talking to journalists after inspecting a food warehouse in the Nama Bazar area of Savar this evening. The Food Minister said it is the government's responsibility to ensure the supply of safe food to the people and the ministry remains vigilant in this regard.

Noting that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is very conscious about food, she said the government has announced a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. If anyone in the ministry is found involved in corruption, necessary action will be taken against them, she added.

Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam, Food Inspector Khandaker Selim Hossain, Savar Municipal BNP General Secretary Badiuzzaman Badi and local BNP leaders were present during the inspection.
