DHAKA, July 12, 2026 (BSS)- President Mohammed Shahabuddin today expressed deep condolence and grief over the death of former Acting President and former Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar.

In a message of condolence, the President prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members.
 
The President marked his departure as an irreparable loss for the nation as well as the country’s political arena.

“Nation will remember his contribution in flourishing democratic practice in the country with due respect,” he said. Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar breathed his last at a private hospital in the capital at 4:19 am today. He was 94.
