BOGURA, July 28, 2021 (BSS) – A local Awami League (AL) leader was stabbed to death at Fapor union in Sadar upazila of the district last night.

Police identified the slain leader as Mominur Islam Roki (32), general secretary of Fapor union Awami League.

A group of miscreants attacked Mominur with sharp weapons in Hatkhola area around 9:00pm and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar thana Selim Reza said.

Locals rescued the injured AL leader and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC said.

No case was filed in this connection till filling of this report.
