DHAKA, Sept 03, 2026 (BSS) - Three more children died of suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms to 986 since March 15.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room today, 964 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases reached 161,148 from March 15 to September 3.

The number of confirmed measles cases stood at 80 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 19,527 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 3, a total of 141,449 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 136,405 recovered patients were discharged during the same period.

Three children died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 887 since March 15.

No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, while 99 people have died of confirmed measles since March 15.
