JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The vice-chancellor conveyed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the newly elected president in a congratulatory message this afternoon.

In the message, Prof Kamrul described Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as an experienced, learned, decent and refined politician who is widely respected.

Throughout his long political and professional career, Mirza Fakhrul has played an important role in the country's politics and public life through his intellect, wisdom, foresight and leadership, he said.

The VC said Mirza Fakhrul's election as president reflects the confidence placed in his long political experience and leadership.

He expressed hope that the newly elected president would uphold the dignity of the country's highest constitutional office through his wisdom, experience and visionary leadership, while playing an important role in strengthening democracy, the rule of law, national unity and public welfare.

Prof Kamrul also expressed optimism that Bangladesh's dignity would be further enhanced under the leadership of the newly elected president and that the country's image would become brighter in the international arena.

The vice-chancellor wished Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir good health, a long and productive life and success in discharging his responsibilities as president.
