Developed communication systems improve people’s lives, support economic activities: Dulu

RANGPUR, August 15, 2026 (BSS)- Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu MP has said that the more developed and integrated the communication system is, the more dynamic the people's lives and economic activities will be. 

"For this reason, the present government is implementing various projects with emphasis on the development of communication infrastructure across the country," he said.

He said this as the chief guest at the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremony of the construction of a 104.1-meter-long, beautiful arch bridge from Jora Bridge intersection to Lakshnanathtari in Patgram upazila here, at a cost of Tk 23 crore, over the Saniajan River on Saturday, according to PID press release. 

The minister said that various infrastructural development works, including the construction of modern and beautiful roads and bridges, have been undertaken in different areas of the country.

Special emphasis is being given to completing these projects within the stipulated time along with ensuring quality.

Regarding the education system, Asadul Habib Dulu said, it is not enough to just build school and college infrastructure; parents should also pay attention to ensuring that students do not get addicted to mobile phones and stay away from their studies. 

"At the same time, a copying-free environment should be ensured in the exams," he said.

Calling for an anti-drug social movement, the minister further said that it is not possible to eradicate drugs by relying only on law enforcement agencies. 

"People from all walks of life should unite against drugs. A collective resistance should be built against drug addiction, casinos, gambling and other social crimes," he said. 

Lalmonirhat-1 constituency MP Md Hasan Rajib Pradhan, government officials, people from different classes and professions and journalists were present at the event.
