DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - Five more children died of suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, 951 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases reached 140,076 from March 15 to August 13.

A total of 74 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 17,543 since March 15.

From March 15 to August 13, a total of 121,908 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 117,690 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Five people died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 791 children have died of suspected measles since March 15.

No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. However, 99 people have died of confirmed measles from March 15 to August 13.
