DHAKA, Aug 12, 2026 (BSS) - A meeting of the National Moon-Sighting Committee will be held tomorrow to observe the crescent moon of holy Rabiul Awal month of 1448 Hijri and determine the date of holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW).

The meeting will be held at 7pm (after Maghrib prayers) at the Baitul Mukarram meeting room of the Islamic Foundation with Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) in the chair.

In a press release, the Islamic Foundation urged people to inform the authorities if the crescent moon of Rabiul Awal is sighted anywhere in Bangladesh through the following telephone and fax numbers or by contacting the deputy commissioner of the respective district or the upazila nirbahi officer (UNO).
