DHAKA, Aug 09, 2026, (BSS) - Six more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

According to the release, 988 patients were infected by measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while the total number of measles symptoms patients from March 15 to August 9 stood at 136,320.

In the past 24 hours, 75 confirmed measles cases were reported. The total number of confirmed measles cases since March 15 has reached 17,115.

From March 15 to August 9, a total of 118,382 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 114,142 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Six people died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while a total of 775 children died with measles symptoms from March 15 to August 9.

No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. However, 98 children have died of confirmed measles from March 15 to August 9.
