DHAKA, Aug 7, 2026, (BSS) - Three more people have died of suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

The release said 1,017 suspected measles cases were reported during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of suspected cases to 134,655 between March 15 and Aug 6.

During the period, 201 measles cases were laboratory confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 16,740.

From March 15 to Aug 6, a total of 116,822 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 112,525 recovered and were discharged during the same period.

Three people died of suspected measles in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 767 between March 15 and Aug 6.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles has stood at 96.
