JHALAKATHI, Aug 7, 2026 (BSS) - An evaluation meeting on the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, Open SRP and other health issues was held in Barishal today with the support of UNICEF.

The day-long meeting began at 10:00 am at a city hotel in Barishal. Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Health Affairs Dr S M Ziauddin Haider attended the programme as the chief guest.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the EPI and HPV vaccination programmes, Open SRP and various health service activities. Participants also discussed strategies and future action plans to strengthen the implementation of ongoing health sector programmes.

Director of Barishal Health Division Dr Md Refayatul Haider chaired the meeting.

Among others, Barishal City Corporation Administrator Bilkis Akhtar Jahan Shirin, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Prof Dr Prabhat Chandra Biswas, Director of the Barishal Divisional Family Planning Department Abdur Razzaq, SIS Deputy Chief Dr Faruk Ahmed and UNICEF Representative Dr Riyad Mahmud attended the meeting.
