DHAKA, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj today said the government is implementing an integrated and long-term action plan to encourage school attendance, address learning gaps, and build a world-class primary education system.

“The plan includes the distribution of free uniforms, technology-enabled classrooms, a newly reorganised curriculum, a teacher development policy, and simultaneous improvements to school infrastructure,” he said.

The state minister made the remarks while speaking to reporters at Agargaon Taltala Government Primary School after visiting several government primary schools under the Dhaka North City Corporation area.

Hajjaj said the existing curriculum is being reorganised to make it simpler, more effective, and student-oriented. Simultaneously, work is progressing on formulating an integrated teacher policy covering recruitment, training, professional development, performance evaluation, responsibilities, supervision, and training structures at the upazila and district levels, he added.

He said that, as part of the technology-based education system, plans have been taken to introduce video lessons, smart classrooms, instant assessment systems, and modern methods to identify students' learning gaps and provide remedial teaching.

Bobby Hajjaj said, “Our goal is not only infrastructure development; it is to bring about a fundamental improvement in the quality of education. By integrating students, teachers, administration, technology, and the curriculum, we are working to elevate primary education to world standards.”

He said the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to bringing about a groundbreaking transformation in primary education. A modern, quality, and enjoyable learning environment will be ensured for every child in the country.

Sharing his observations from the school visits, the state minister said on-site assessments are being carried out to identify shortcomings under the ongoing aesthetically designed modernisation project for government primary schools in the capital.

During the visits, he observed students’ learning progress through conversations and various educational activities.

He instructed the relevant teachers to pay special attention to students who are lagging behind in specific subjects.

Divisional Deputy Director of Primary Education for the Dhaka Region Md. Abdul Aziz, the District Primary Education Officer of Dhaka, primary education officers from different police station areas, students, and guardians were present on the occasion.
