DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman on Monday visited the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) in Savar on the outskirt of the capital and played football with women players.
A video of Zaima Rahman playing football at the BKSP has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread praise for her enthusiasm for the sport.
Many social media users commented that the video, shared during the FIFA World Cup period, reflected Bangladesh's deep-rooted passion for football.
Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said, “Barrister Zaima Rahman visited BKSP at the invitation of the institution’s authorities. She visited the institution to encourage young athletes and toured various facilities and interacted with coaches and students.”
In the widely shared video, Zaima Rahman is seen passing the ball to a woman footballer near the edge of the penalty area. After skillfully controlling the ball, the players exchanged passes and advanced toward goal.
At one stage, Zaima Rahman entered the penalty area and struck a powerful shot past the goalkeeper to score. Her accurate ball control, quick decision-making ability, and well-executed finish impressed social media users.
Zaima Rahman reached the BKSP at Shimulia in Savar around 10:00 am to gain firsthand knowledge of the institute’s sports infrastructure and training activities. She stayed there until the afternoon.
During the visit, she toured different sports venues and facilities and exchanged views with BKSP officials, coaches and students. The premier’s daughter enjoyed a sports demonstration at the gymnasium.
She also inspected the indoor cricket facilities, cricket ground, artificial turf football venue, Bailman Hangar and shooting venue. In addition, Zaima Rahman visited student dormitories and interacted with students.
Lawmaker Farida Yasmin, BKSP Director General Brigadier General Md Saif Ullah, Director (Training) Colonel Golam Mabud Hasan, Principal Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Imran Hasan, Professor Nasrin Sultana of the Institute of Health Economics at the University of Dhaka, former national table tennis player Jobera Rahman Linu and other officials of the institution were present during the visit.
