DHAKA, June 10, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education
Bobby Hajjaj has said the government is committed to scaling up innovative
education initiatives of NGOs and development partners at the national level
to ensure inclusive and quality education across the country.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the "UNESCO
Confucius Literacy Prize 2025" award ceremony held at a city hotel today.

The minister said special emphasis would be placed on ensuring educational
access for children in climate-vulnerable and hard-to-reach areas by
expanding proven and effective models so that learning opportunities and
skills development can reach every household.

Highlighting climate-resilient education approaches, he underscored the
importance of boat-based and floating school systems as practical solutions
for education delivery in remote and disaster-prone regions.

Congratulating award-winning organisation "Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha", he
said the organisation has long been successfully implementing boat-based
education programmes, which stand as a tested and effective model for
reaching underserved communities.

The key priority now is to scale up such successful initiatives in similar
geographical contexts through coordinated efforts involving both government
and development partners, he noted.

The state minister further said that while initiating programmes is
important, ensuring effective implementation and wider outreach is even more
critical.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the expansion of such
impactful models at the national level.

Bobby Hajjaj also expressed gratitude to UNESCO for its continued support in
advancing education in Bangladesh and hoped that this cooperation would be
further strengthened in the coming years.

Among others, Rasheda K. Choudhury, Executive Director of CAMPE, Debabrata
Chakraborty, Director General of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education and Susan
Vize, UNICEF Representative in Bangladesh, along with senior education
officials from home and abroad, attended the event.
