DHAKA, March 15, 2026 (BSS) - Youth and Sports State Minister Md. Aminul Haque has announced that 317 teenagers from his constituency will be gifted bicycles for regularly offering five daily prayers in congregation (Jamaat) during the holy month of Ramadan.

He inaugurated the bicycle distribution programme this afternoon in front of the Mirpur-11 Central Jame Mosque in the capital.

On the occasion, bicycles were distributed among 27 teenagers who attended regular congregational prayers throughout Ramadan at the Mirpur Central Jame Mosque and 18 teenagers from the Rupnagar tin-shed area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Aminul Haque said he had earlier pledged that children aged 12 to 14 who would attend mosque and offer five daily prayers throughout Ramadan would be rewarded with bicycles as encouragement.

"Today marks the beginning of implementing that commitment," he said, adding that the main objective of the initiative is to help build the habit of regular prayer among children and guide them toward the right path.

The minister said the programme is being implemented in six mosques under four wards in Mirpur, and a total of 317 teenagers will receive bicycles under the initiative.

He also expressed plans to expand the programme to more mosques in the coming year.

He said the effort aims to promote moral values and encourage children to grow up with religious discipline, noting that the initiative is meant to inspire them to maintain the habit of prayer throughout their lives.

Local dignitaries, mosque imams and khatibs, and a large number of guardians attended the event.
