DHAKA, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS): Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain today paid a surprise visit to the Singair Upazila Health Complex and the 50-bed hospital in Manikganj District this morning.

During the visit, the minister also participated in a mosquito control and cleanliness campaign aimed at preventing mosquito-borne diseases, including Dengue Fever. 

The nationwide campaign began today across the country.

While inspecting the health complex and the hospital, the minister inquired about the conditions of the patients and listened to their problems.

He also asked whether patients were being provided with proper meals and checked the quality of the food being served.

The minister further reviewed the attendance of doctors at the hospital and expressed dissatisfaction as the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and two other doctors were not present at the office on time.

According to sources at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Bangladesh), such surprise inspections at government health complexes will continue.
