DHAKA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) – Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army General Waker-Uz-Zaman has urged all concerned to perform their respective duties through professionalism, impartiality, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly conduct.
He came up with the directive while exchanging views with senior military officers, various law enforcement agencies and civil administration officials at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation Regional Center in Cox's Bazar.
Subsequently, a similar view-exchange-meeting was held at the conference room of the Sylhet District Administration, a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said this evening.
As part of his countrywide visit to different areas General Waker today visited Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet, centering the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) polls and referendum slated for February 12.
During the meetings, inter-institutional coordination and overall security management dominated the discussions to ensure a fair, peaceful and impartial conduct of the upcoming national election, the ISPR mentioned.
Besides, the army chief laid emphasis on performing activities upholding professionalism and neutrality by the army personnel deployed under the 'In Aid to the Civil Power' and provided them necessary guidance.
During the visit to Cox's Bazar and Sylhet areas, General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, GOC of 10 Infantry Division and Cox's Bazar Area Commander, Air Commander of Bangladesh Air Force Base at Cox's Bazar, Military Secretary of the Army, SI&T Commandant, the GOC of 17 Infantry Division and Area Commanders, Sylhet Area and Army Headquarters and Cox's Bazar Area senior military officers, as well as divisional commissioners, senior officers of the civil administration and law enforcement agencies, and representatives of various media outlets were present.
