DMP files 2,191 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,191 cases against motor vehicles for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Saturday (December 13) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 391 motor vehicles were dumped and 190 were wrecked due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

DMP's Motijheel division filed the highest 347 cases, Wari traffic division 229 cases, Tejgaon division 283 cases, Mirpur division 260 cases, Gulshan traffic division registered 389 cases, Uttara division filed 319 cases, Ramna division 198 cases and Lalbagh division 173 cases.

According to the press release, several teams of the DMP traffic division have been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.

The release further said that the campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
