DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today said his party has a detailed plan to take the country forward.

“Only the BNP has a detailed plan to take the country forward; no other party has one. If we get the opportunity to form a government, we will be able to take Bangladesh forward by implementing these plans, Insha'Allah. We will implement realistic plans to improve the quality of life for people from every walk of life in the country,” he said.

Tarique Rahman made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony at the third day of the BNP's 7-day programme titled 'Plan for Nation Building' at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Convention Hall in the city.

He said that by participating in this day-long discussion, the activists learned how the BNP intends to advance the country, how it has formulated plans for various segments of society and how those plans will be implemented.

He emphasized that the BNP has prepared plans that touch everyone like a mother, a woman, a child, a young man or woman, a farmer, a primary or secondary teacher, a small businessman, and a shopkeeper.

During his speech, he played a two-minute video. The video presented an explanation of Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in 2001, which was based on corruption over the preceding three years. At that time, the BNP had been in power for only 10 months. He highlighted the fact that the BNP government subsequently improved the country's position in the corruption index in the following years and succeeded in removing Bangladesh from the "champion" position.

"No matter what propaganda the Awami League spreads, the truth eventually emerges. The survey by an independent organization proves that the BNP reduced corruption in the country,” he said.

The BNP Acting Chairman added that no plan can succeed without maintaining law and order in the country. He claimed that the law and order were better during the BNP's term, and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was made completely independent. He assured that its independence would be restored in the same manner if needed in the future.

Tarique Rahman mentioned that Bangladesh has approximately four crore families. To bring every one of these families under state services, the BNP plans to introduce a Family Card, he said, adding that initially, it will be provided to the most deprived families and then gradually extended to all.

"The wife of a farmer, the wife of an Imam, a primary school teacher, or a shopkeeper- everyone will receive it. Even the wife of a DC or a judge will receive it. They may not take it if they don't need it. But when a benefit is generalized, the opportunity for corruption is reduced,” he added.

Referring to women's education, he recalled that Khaleda Zia had made education free up to HSC level for girls. He announced that if the BNP returns to power, plans will be implemented not only to create educated mothers but also self-reliant mothers.

Mention the food crisis in the country, the BNP Acting Chairman said, “The vast majority of the food consumed daily by the country's approximately 20 crore people depends on agriculture. Therefore, progress is impossible without strengthening the hands of farmers.”

He said that small, medium, and marginal farmers would be provided with state support for a specific period so they could strengthen their economic base.

“We believe that increasing agricultural production and improving the storage system for produced goods will ensure farmers get fair prices and the people get products at affordable prices,” he added.

Mentioning that illness is inevitable worldwide, he said, “However, the BNP's plan focuses on training health workers to visit door-to-door, increasing public awareness, and emphasizing disease prevention. This system will reduce the pressure on hospitals and ensure proper treatment.”

He said that the internet is now akin to a fundamental right. The BNP is considering providing free internet access not only at schools, colleges, and airports but also at libraries, universities, and cafes. The goal is to allow young people to learn, conduct business, and create content.

Tarique Rahman noted that 8 to 10 lakh people go abroad every year, but most are unskilled. There is a demand for skilled workers in many countries, including Europe and Japan. Therefore, the BNP plans to make a second foreign language mandatory alongside English at the school level, he added.

He also presented the plan to establish Technical and Vocational Institutions in every district and upazila.

Mentioning the sports sector, Tarique Rahman said, "We will not just create doctors or engineers. We want to develop the country's young men and women as professional athletes. They will play abroad and can return home to become trainers."

Based on the proposals from the Olama Dal, he commented that there is a plan to gradually increase the social status of the Imams and Muazzins of the country's nearly three lakh mosques.

Urging the activists to work for ‘Dhaner Shish’, he said, "The country's independence, sovereignty, and democracy now depend on the nationalist forces. There is no time to sit at home. You must jump into the field. We have made the plan; now we must take to the field for implementation."

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi presided over the event.

Earlier, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan inaugurated the event this morning.

BNP joint secretary general Habib-un -Nabi Khan Sohel moderated the event while BNP Acting Chairman’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, among others BNP senior leaders, spoke in the event.

Various unit of Jatiyatabadi Olama Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal from the city participated in the event.

Mahdi Amin said that this six-day-long programme is not merely a declaration of policy; it is an initiative to spread the party's plans across the entire country among the party leaders and activists. “Every policy and plan has been presented in detail at party meetings and programmes so that the leaders and workers can go to the field and clearly convey them to the people. Political analysts believe that this programme will effectively assist the party in its election preparations and in mobilizing public opinion,” he said.
