DHAKA, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) has filed 2,006 cases against motor vehicles for violating
traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and
realized the money on Monday (December 1) through their regular drives
against the traffic rule breakers.
A total of 395 motor vehicles were dumped and 185 vehicles were wrecked due
to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media
and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.
Mentionable, DMP's Gulshan division filed the highest 494 cases while
Motijheel traffic division filed 346 cases, Wari Division 202 cases, Tejgaon
division 216 cases, Mirpur division 245 cases, Uttara division 264 cases,
Ramna division 93 cases and Lalbagh division filed 146 cases.
"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
