DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The interim government today transferred 13 superintendents of police (SPs) across the country.
Officials familiar with the development at the Home Ministry and Police Headquarters said some of the BCS police cadre officials were given responsibility of additional inspector general (current charge).
The home ministry has issued a notification that suggested 10 SPs were transferred to different police units with same status, while three of them were given additional responsibility.
Following the list of officers having their status: SP of Molvibazar MKH Jahangir Hossen has been transferred to Special Branch (SB) as Special SP, SP of Rangpur Abu Sayeem to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as Deputy Commissioner (DC), SP of Sherpur Md Aminul Islam to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as SP, SP of Kurigram Md Mahfuzur Rahman to Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) as DC, SP of Pirojpur Khan Muhammad Abu Naser to Armed Police Battalion (APBn) as SP, SP of Naogaon Mohammad Safiul Sarowar to PBI as SP, SP of Lakshmipur Md Akter Hossain to PBI as SP, SP of Chapainawabganj Md Rezaul Karim to DMP as DC, SP of Kushtia Md Mizanur Rahman to SB as special SP and SP of Bhola Mohammad Shariful Haq to PBI as SP.
The notification, however, said that the government has given additional responsibility of three SPs as additional inspector general (current charge).
Following the notification SP of Sunamganj Tofail Ahmed has been transferred to Khulna Range, as additional inspector general (current charge), SP of Sirajganj Md Faruk Hossain to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) as additional commissioner (current charge) and SP of Cox’s Bazar Md Saifuddin Shaheen to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as additional inspector general (current charge).
