DHAKA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS)- Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Ministry Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today said an ICT cell will be established at a2i to provide technical support to the National University (NU) in the field of information technology.
He said this while addressing the closing ceremony of the “Trainers’ Training” workshop organized for instructors on implementing the National University’s ICT curriculum at the ICT Division in the capital, said a press release of the ministry.
“This ICT course and training workshop marks a significant milestone in empowering every student under the National University with knowledge in coding, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud-based computing, data management, online security, and the use of various digital tools,” said Taiyeb.
He added: “As we move toward the 4th Industrial Revolution, our goal is to create greater opportunities for students to gain technological skills and education.”
“If we want uplift of Bangladesh, we must develop the National University. Digital transformation of Bangladesh will not be possible if the students of the National University are left behind.
To support this transformation, an ICT Cell will be opened at a2i to provide technical assistance to the National University,” he said.
ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury chaired the event while Member of Socio Economic Infrastructure Division Dr. Quayyum Ara Begum and NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah also spoke.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Additional Secretary (Administration) of the ICT Division Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Project Director (Joint Secretary) Md. Abdur Rofiq, and UNICEF Bangladesh Deputy Representative Deepika Sharma also attended the programme.
Shish Haider Chowdhury said, “Often, technology-based plans fail to reach classrooms. This training that will narrow the gap, and directly transfer technology to students through the trained teachers.”
The workshop was organized by the National University with technical support from the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Program and UNICEF Bangladesh.
Around 90 selected trainers from the university took part in the training programme. At the end of the programme, the participants were given certificates.
