JnUCSU election on Dec 22

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - The schedule for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election has been announced, with voting set for December 22.

Chief Election Commissioner Professor Mostafa Hasan made the announcement at the teachers' lounge of the Shaheed Sajid Academy Building today.

He said the final code of conduct for the election will be published on the university's official election portal today (November 5). The draft voter list will be released on November 6, with objections received and resolved on November 9 and 10. The final voter list will be published on November 12.

According to the schedule, candidates can collect nomination forms on November 13, 16, and 17 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Submission of nomination papers will take place on November 17 and 18 during the same hours. 

Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on November 19 and 20, and the preliminary list of candidates will be announced on November 23. Objections to candidacies will be received and settled on November 24, 25, and 26.

Dope tests for candidates are scheduled for November 27 and 30, with the final list of candidates set to be published on December 3. 

Candidates will have the option to withdraw nominations on December 4, 7, and 8. The final list of contesting candidates will be announced on December 9.

Election campaigning, following the code of conduct, will be allowed from December 9 to December 19. Voting will take place on December 22 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with results expected on the same day or December 23, depending on the completion of counting.

Election Commissioners Prof. Md. Shahidul Islam, Chairman, Department of Law; Prof. Dr. Kaniz Fatema Kakli of the Department of Physics; Prof. Dr. Md. Zulfiqar Mahmud of Computer Science and Engineering department; and Associate Prof. Dr. Md. Anisur Rahman of Islamic History and Culture department were present, during the announcement.
