BRUR teachers, students are in world's best research activities: VC

RANGPUR, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya 
University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has said teachers and 
students of the university have started making positions in the world's best 
research activities.
 
"Our teachers and students are contributing to high-quality research 
activities and have been able to create a worthy position for themselves in 
the field of world-class research," he said in a congratulatory message 
today.
 
In the congratulatory message, the VC congratulated two teachers and a 
student of BRUR for being included in the list of the world's top two percent 
best researchers.
 
Recently, Stanford University in the United States and the Netherlands-based 
world-renowned medical and scientific publishing company Elsevier published 
their names in their joint survey list.
 
The list includes BRUR's Associate Prof of the Department of Electrical and 
Electronic Engineering Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Prof of the Department of 
Disaster and Management Dr Abu Reza Md Taufiqul Islam and a student of the 
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Abhijit Ghosh.
 
Dr Showkat Ali said that their [the teachers and the student] outstanding 
success will open new horizons in the education and research arena of BRUR 
and inspire future generations to pursue research. 
 
"The current administration of BRUR is working to improve the quality of 
higher education and research," he said, and called on the teachers and 
students of the university to get involved in research. 
 
The VC hoped that the two teachers and one student who have been recognized 
as the world's best researchers will make more important contributions to the 
world of research in the future and will enhance the prestige of BRUR. 
 
"I also strongly believe that every student and teacher of the university 
will take the success of the two teachers and one student as inspiration," he 
added.
