DHAKA, June 4, 2026 (BSS) - The cabinet today congratulated Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The cabinet extended the felicitation at its meeting at the Public Administration Meeting Room of the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat here this evening, said Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired the meeting.

Regarding Dr Khalilur Rahman's election as UNGA President, the meeting noted that the achievement is a shining example of Bangladesh's growing prestige on the global stage, its diplomatic capabilities and confidence in multilateral relations.

Cabinet members and the secretaries concerned were present at the meeting.
