DHAKA, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) - The month-long 'Islamic Book Fair ' will begin tomorrow on the premises of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city.

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain will inaugurate the book fair as the chief guest at 4:45 pm (after Asr prayers), said a press release.

Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik will be present as the special guest while Islamic Foundation Director General A. Salam Khan will preside over the event.

The book fair will be held at the south and east plazas of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. It will continue till October 12.

The organizers said that the fair will be open for all from 11 am to 10 pm every day. On holidays, the fair will run from 10 am to 10 pm.

There are about 150 stalls at the fair. In addition, at least five international stalls from Egypt, Lebanon and Pakistan are participating in this year's book fair.

The fair will offer basic and research-based books on various topics of Islam, including translations of the Holy Quran, Tafsir and Hadith books.

In addition, there will be Islamic cultural performances, discussion meetings and new book unveiling ceremonies with the participation of writers, readers and publishers every day. 

There will be a children's area, media corner, information center and separate seating arrangements for women.

On the occasion of the month-long book fair, there will be a commission of 40 to 70 percent on all books published at the stalls of the Islamic Foundation and in the divisional and district offices.
