DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) – One person sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a filling station in the capital’s Mohakhali area this evening.
The blaze was brought under control after half an hour of firefighting efforts.
The injured, Mir Hossain, 55, was rushed to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) in critical condition, confirmed its Resident Surgeon Dr Shawon Bin Rahman.
The fire originated at Eureka Filling Station, located beside the Retired Armed Forces Officers' Welfare Association (RAOWA) Plaza in Mohakhali, around 7:18pm, a duty officer at the Fire Service Control Room told BSS.
Eleven firefighting units were dispatched to the scene and managed to control the fire by approximately 7:47pm.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.
