COX'S BAZAR, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - Air Vice-Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq,
chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), today hoped
that international flights from Cox's Bazar Airport will begin partially by
mid-October this year.
"Today, we inspected the progress of the second terminal of the airport and
the runway constructed over the sea. It appears that by mid-October, it will
be possible to operate international flights partially from Cox's Bazar
Airport," he said.
The CAAB chairman said this while talking with reporters after visiting the
airport.
Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq said while responding to a question, "Although it is
difficult to say exactly what percentage of the work of the terminal has been
completed, it will be possible to start operations by mid-October."
"We are in the final stages of preparation for that," he added.
During the visit, Mohammad Yunus Bhuiyan, project director of Cox's Bazar
Airport, Golam Mortuza Hasan, airport manager and its other officials were
present.
