DHAKA, Aug 1, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has said July is a strong explosion against discrimination and strong expression of protest.

“July is our consciousness, July is our inspiration. On July 24, our youth once again sowed the seeds of liberation in this blood-soaked land,” he said.

Farooki was addressing as the chief guest the inauguration of the four-day July Revival Cultural Fest organized by the Saimum Shilpi Goshti at the Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

The adviser said during the July mass uprising, the youth pronounced in a bright voice that life is not the last word where betrayal is synonymous with death.

“By upholding, observing and nurturing this July slogan - 'motherland or death' - our youth have written an epic poem of success,” he said.

He said all pro Bangladeshi forces must unite to break the shackle of cultural hegemony of the fascists to develop the native culture.

Speaking as the special guest, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, “We must continuously move forward by embracing our own cultural heritage to defeat Mujibism”.

Saimum Shilpi Goshti President Zahidul Islam chaired the event.

The four-day event featured various activities including cultural programmes, film screenings, reminiscence and graffiti painting.
