DHAKA, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) today ordered the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to mention blood groups and parents' phone numbers on students' identity cards.
A High Court division bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Sayed Jahed Mansur passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed in this connection.
The court also ordered to form a high-power expert committee within seven days to identify the reason behind huge casualties in the fighter jet crash into a building of Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara area on Monday afternoon. The committee has to file its report within 45 days.
The High Court issued a rule, asking the authorities concerned to explain why it shall not pass an order to give Taka five crore to the family of each dead victim and Taka one crore to the each injured. It also wanted to know why order shall not be passed to provide adequate treatment to the injured at home and abroad.
Senior advocate Zainul Abedin, Barrister Kaiser Kama, Advocate Gazi Qamrul Islam Sazal and Advocate Siddique Ullah Miah moved the plea, filed by Supreme Court lawyer AR Raihan.
Deputy Attorney Generals Shafikur Rahman and Tanim Khan and Assistant Attorney General Ekramul Kabir stood for the state.
