AL's liberation war sub-committee hails PM for UN speech

 DHAKA, Sept 25, 2021 (BSS) - Awami League (AL)'s Liberation Affairs Sub-Committee has greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her remarkable speech containing 6-point proposals at the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations.

     The sub-committee at a meeting at AL president's Dhanmondi political office here today extended thanks to Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina for delivering the speech which reflected hopes and aspirations of downtrodden people of the world.

     It also congratulated the premier for receiving "SDG Progress Award" by UN-sponsored Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) as well as for being introduced as the "jewel in the crown of the day" by the event's moderator.

     AL Liberation War Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman and valiant freedom fighter Md Rashidul Alam chaired the meeting while sub-committee Member Secretary and AL Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das, MP, moderated it.

     Mahbub Uddin, Bir Bikram, also addressed the meeting.

     Speaking on the occasion, Rashidul Alam urged all to make united efforts for implementing spirit of the Liberation War and ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

     To implement the spirit of Liberation War, the culture of communal harmony and brotherhood of Bangalee nation for thousand years must be kept intact, he said.

     Mrinal Kanti Das said AL believes in the culture of liberal communal harmony. He urged all believing in the spirit of Liberation War to resist the defeated forces of the Liberation War and communal forces.

     "We will have to materialize the dreams of 30 lakh martyrs of Liberation War by turning Bangladesh into a developed and prosperous country with keeping harmony and amity intact," he said.
