Jamaat’s Motiar Rahman unofficially elected in Jhenaidah-3

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Motiar Rahman has been unofficially elected from the Jhenidah-3 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, securing 1,75,857 votes.

According to the unofficially announced results, his closest rival, Mohammad Mehdi Hasan of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) received 1,49,821 votes.

Meanwhile, in the referendum of this constituency, the ‘Yes’ secured 1,98,685 votes while the ‘No’ got 1,11,917 votes. 

The information was disclosed during a formal briefing at the Referendum and 13th National Parliamentary Election 2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission, held at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
