DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Md Abul Kalam of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been unofficially elected from Cumilla-9 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.

He secured 1, 70,008 votes with the party’s sheaf paddy symbol while his nearest rival Syed A K M Sarwar Uddin Siddiqui of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, contesting with the weighing scale symbol, bagged 1, 18,961 votes.

In the constituency, 1, 75,749 votes were cast in favour of ‘Yes’ in the referendum, while 1, 03,535 votes were cast for ‘No’.

The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in capital's Agargaon area today.
