LALMONIRHAT, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - In the 13th National Parliamentary
Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secured a clean sweep in
Lalmonirhat, winning all three parliamentary constituencies with their iconic
"Sheaf of Paddy" symbol.
The standout result came from the Sadar constituency, where party's
organising secretary and former deputy minister Principal Asadul Habib Dulu
achieved a landslide victory.
According to District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib
Haider, after counting votes late Thursday night, Dulu secured a staggering
1,39,657 votes defeating his nearest rival Abu Taher, who received 56,244
votes under the "Daripalla" symbol. Dulu's winning margin of 83,413 votes has
drawn significant attention.
In the Lalmonirhat-2 constituency, comprising Kaliganj and Aditmari upazilas,
BNP's Rokon Uddin Babul won 1,23,946 votes, narrowly defeating Firoz Haider
Lavlu of the "Daripalla" symbol by 6,694 votes. The total voter turnout
across 156 centers was 64.53 percent.
In Lalmonirhat-1, encompassing Patgram and Hatibandha, Bangladesh Nationalist
Party (BNP)-nominated Hasan Rajib Pradhan obtained 138,686 votes, defeating
Anwarul Islam Raju of the "Daripalla" symbol, who received 1,29,572 votes,
with a margin of 9,114 votes. This constituency recorded the highest voter
turnout in the district at 72.16 percent among 138 centers.
The sweeping victories across Lalmonirhat were met with excitement among BNP
leaders and activists, marking a strong performance for the party in the
northern district.
