RAJSHAHI, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - In the 13th National Parliamentary Election, candidates of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won four out of the six
parliamentary seats in Rajshahi, while nominees of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secured victory in two.
The results received late Thursday night confirmed this outcome.
In Rajshahi-1 (Godagari-Tanore), Professor Mujibur Rahman, Nayeb-e-Ameer of the central committee of Jamaat-e-Islami, was elected as Member of Parliament
again after four decades. He secured 169,784 votes from polling centers.
His nearest rival was BNP candidate Major General (Retd.) Sharif Uddin, who received 169,010 votes.
That means Professor Mujibur Rahman won by a margin of just 774 votes. He was previously elected MP from this seat in 1986.
In Rajshahi-2 (Sadar), BNP candidate Mizanur Rahman Minu was re-elected as Member of Parliament. Contesting with the party's "Sheaf of Paddy" symbol, he
received 127,196 votes.
His closest competitor, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Dr. Mohammad Jahangir, who contested with the "Scales" symbol, secured 99,496 votes. The margin between
them was 27,700 votes.
Mizanur Rahman previously served as Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation. While serving as mayor, he was also elected MP from the Sadar seat in the 2001
election.
In Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur), BNP candidate Shafiqul Haque Milan was elected as MP. He received 176,468 votes at polling centers with the "Sheaf of Paddy"
symbol. His nearest rival, Jamaat candidate Abul Kalam Azad, received 136,565 votes with the "Scales" symbol.
The margin between them was 39,903 votes. The result of postal ballots for this seat has not yet been announced.
In Rajshahi-4 (Bagmara), Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Dr. Abdul Bari, contesting with the "Scales" symbol, emerged victorious.
He secured 118,208 votes from polling centers and postal ballots combined.
His closest rival, BNP nominee DMD Ziaur Rahman, contesting with the "Sheaf of Paddy" symbol, received 109,759 votes from polling centers and postal
ballots. The margin of victory was 8,449 votes.
In Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur), BNP candidate Professor Nazrul Islam Mondol won by a huge margin. Based on votes received only from polling centers, he
was ahead by 80,323 votes.
According to results from 135 polling centers, BNP candidate Professor Nazrul Islam Mondol secured 152,835 votes. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami
candidate Maulana Manjur Rahman, received 72,512 votes with the "Scales" symbol.
This margin cannot be reduced even with the addition of postal ballots. The results of the postal ballots are yet to be announced.
In Rajshahi-6 (Bagha-Charghat), BNP candidate Abu Sayeed Chand was elected as MP. He secured a total of 148,672 votes. His closest rival, Jamaat candidate
Nazmul Haque, received 92,965 votes with the "Scales" symbol.
The margin between them was 55,707 votes. In postal ballots, Abu Sayeed Chand received 1,313 votes, while Nazmul Haque received 1,505 votes. The elected
Abu Sayeed Chand is the convener of the Rajshahi District BNP.
