DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS)- Adviser to the BNP Chairman and spokesperson of the party’s election steering committee Mahdi Amin today said the victory of BNP in the 13th parliamentary election is not of the party alone, but also to triumph of the whole nation.

"After a long wait, people have exercised their franchise delivering a historic message in favor of democracy," he said while talking to journalists in front of the BNP Chairman's office in Gulshan here today.

Mahdi Amin said BNP is the party of the common masses, so this long anticipated victory is not the success of any individual or a single party. “This is the victory of the people of this country, the victory of democracy.” 

“Today's result is the outcome of a long movement, struggle, sacrifices, and aspirations,” he added.

The BNP leader said that Tarique Rahman will certainly fulfill the hopes the people have placed in the BNP.

“Under the leadership of Tarique Rahman a transparent and accountable state will be established," he said.

Mahdi Amin further said, "After a long democratic journey, the BNP stands on the sacrifices and struggles of many martyrs.” 

Tarique Rahman will fulfill the expectation of the mothers of the martyrs and will change the fate of every person. 

“We believe he will uphold the independence, sovereignty, and democracy of this country,” he said.
