BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman unofficially elected in Dhaka-17

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman has been unofficially elected from the Dhaka-17 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, securing 72,699 votes with the party symbol ‘Sheaf of Paddy’.

According to the results announced unofficially, his closest rival, Dr SM Khaliduzzaman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami received 68,300 votes.

The information was disclosed during a formal briefing at the Referendum and Thirteenth National Parliamentary Election 2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission, held at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
