BNP candidate Sheikh Faridul Islam wins Bagerhat-3

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Sheikh Faridul Islam has been elected unofficially from Bagerhat-3 
constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, securing 102,661 votes.

His closest rival, Mohammad Abdul Wadud Sheikh, nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, received 98,326 votes.

In the referendum held alongside the parliamentary election in the constituency, a total of 107,289 voters cast their ballots in favor "Yes", 
while 72,796 voted against "No".

The results were announced by Akhtar Ahmed, Secretary of the Election Commission, during a formal briefing at the referendum and 13th National 
Parliament Election 2026 results collection and presentation center at the Agargaon Election Building in Dhaka.
