Jamaat’s Md. Moshiur Rahman Khan unofficially elected from Bagerhat-1

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate Md. Moshiur Rahman Khan has been unofficially elected from the Bagerhat-1 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election.

According to the results, Khan secured 117,527 votes, defeating his nearest rival Kapil Krishna Mondal, a candidate nominated by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), who received 114,323 votes.

In addition to the parliamentary contest, 135,272 ‘Yes’ votes and 99,274 ‘No’ votes were cast in the constituency.

The information was disclosed by Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed during a formal briefing at the Results Collection and Presentation Center set up for the Referendum and 13th National Parliament Election-2026 at the Election Building in Agargaon, Dhaka.

The Election Commission is expected to publish the official gazette notification after completing all formal procedures.
