DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Sheikh Manjurul Haque, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate has been elected unofficially from the Bagerhat-2 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election.
According to the preliminary results, Haque, popularly known as Rahad, secured 117,709 votes. His nearest rival, Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), received 66,409 votes.
In the referendum held alongside the parliamentary election in the constituency, a total of 157,757 voters cast 'Yes' votes, while 68,106 voters cast 'No' votes.
The information was disclosed by Akhtar Ahmed, Secretary of the Election Commission, during a formal briefing at the Results Collection and Presentation Center at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.
