DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate Md. Abdul Alim has been elected unofficially from the Bagerhat-4 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election.

He secured 1,16,067 votes while his nearest rival, BNP-nominated candidate Som Nath Dey, received 98,326 votes.

In the referendum held alongside the parliamentary election in the constituency, 1,31,231 voters cast 'Yes' votes, while 80,381 voted 'No'.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Akhtar Ahmed announced the results at a formal briefing held at the EC's Results Collection and Presentation Center at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.

The results were finalized following the completion of vote counting across all polling centers in the constituency.
