DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate Md Selimuzzaman Mollah has been elected unofficially from Gopalganj-1 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election.

He bagged 69,462 votes while his nearest rival Gono Odhikar Parishad candidate Md Kabir Miah secured 54,329 votes.

In the referendum, 54,716 voters cast "yes" vote while 1,28,298 others cast "no" vote in this constituency. 

The results were announced from Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.

Voting was held from 7:30 am to 4.30 pm across 42,779 polling centres in 299 constituencies nationwide on Thursday. 

A total of 12,77,11,793 voters were registered to cast their ballots, including 6,48,25,361 males, 6,28,85,200 females, and 1,232 from the third gender.
