DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate GM Nazrul Islam has been elected unofficially from Satkhira-4 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election.

He bagged 1,06, 913 votes while his nearest rival BNP candidate Md Moniruzzaman secured 85,426 votes.

In the referendum, 129741 voters cast "yes" vote while 60,779 others cast "no" vote in this constituency. 

The results were announced from Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.

Voting was held from 7:30 am to 4.30 pm across 42,779 polling centres in 299 constituencies nationwide on Thursday. 

A total of 12,77,11,793 voters were registered to cast their ballots, including 6,48,25,361 males, 6,28,85,200 females, and 1,232 from the third gender.
